Most of the time when you see the tallest player on the floor they are post players. However, point guard Hampton Evans is the exception. At the NYBL Finals his size allowed him to survey over his opponents and find open spots in the defense. Hampton is not the fastest player but plays at a pace that he is comfortable. When he decided to get to the rack there was little to nothing the defense could do. His ability to initiate and finish through contact made it tough for anyone to challenge his shot around the rim. This kid was able to score when needed but also orchestrate the offense in a way every coach would love. Hampton Evans should be in the conversation as one of the top players in North Carolina’s 2024 class.
